EVENT SCHEDULE AND CHECK-IN INFORMATION:
Please note that event times listed are the close of registration. Fencers are required to be checked in by this time. Fencers must check-in each day by close of registration of their event that day.
AWARDS:
Medals will be given to the top 8 fencers in each event; this includes the Open Women’s standard Bay Cup events.
Alliance Fencing Equipment is providing gift certificates to the top 4 fencers in each event.
FEES:
Tournament Registration Fee: $30
Event Fees: $15
One Time Fee for Non Bay Cup Season Pass Holders: $15
Late Registration Fee: $60
At-the-door Registration Fee: $90
Regular Fee Deadline: EXTENDED THROUGH MAY 28
Late Fee Period: May 29 – June 1, no pre-registrations will be allowed after June 1.
Registration is not complete until payment is made. Payment must be made via askFRED.
Registration fees are non-refundable. Through June 1, 100% of the event fee will be refunded if The Bay Cup is contacted with a refund request. After June 1, there will be no refunds of the event fee. Please register early to avoid complications.
TOURNAMENT FORMAT:
The standard event format used for Bay Cup tournaments is one round of pools with 100% promotion to a direct elimination table with no repechage.
We will not be fencing off for 3rd.
There will be at least 2 grounded strips for the tournament.
BAY CUP SERIES AND POINTS:
The Open Women’s events will be part of the normal Bay Cup series; points will be awarded as usual.
The Open Men’s events are not part of a Bay Cup series, so no Bay Cup points will be awarded for these events.
ELIGIBILITY INFORMATION:
Fencers competing must be current competitive members of USA Fencing or show proof of valid 1-day USA Fencing membership.
These are senior age events; a fencer must have a birth year of 2000 or earlier or be on the National Junior point standings.
UNIFORM AND EQUIPMENT REQUIREMENTS:
All USA Fencing uniform requirements apply. This includes regulation fencing jacket and pants, underarm protector, knee socks, and a fencing glove that covers half the forearm. Women must wear chest protectors. Names are NOT required to be on the uniform.
Masks with conductive bibs for foil are required, masks with visors are not allowed for saber, saber or foil masks with conductive material are not allowed for epee events.
There will be no equipment check.
On the strip, referees will be checking for a second weapon and body cord, underarm protectors, and chest protectors.
